Prostate Adenoma
An adenoma is a non-cancerous tumor not uncommon in the tissues of the prostate gland, especially in men over sixty (although it can occur in younger men). Adenoma only appears in men who have been forced to hold their urine. This disorder can be divided into four stages.
Stage One Only slight difficulty urinating. There may be discomfort around the perineum or the lower abdomen.
Stage Two Increased urination frequency. At first problems may arise at night and only later during the day. Urine becomes darker, but urination is not painful. There may be the first signs of incontinence.
Stage Three Partial incontinence. Insufficient voiding causes a widening of the ureters and renal pelvis, which may result in renal dysfunction.
Stage Four Urination comes in drips. Insufficient voiding becomes a serious problem, along with self-intoxication, dysfunction of the nervous and gastro-intestinal systems. Once the third and fourth stages are reached, surgery is required.
